Term Instructor of Music at University of Alaska System Anchorage, AK

The Department of Music, within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), invites applications for a full-time, one year, term-funded faculty position at the rank of Term Instructor to teach courses in aural skills, music appreciation and brass methods as well as to direct the school's orchestra, Sinfonia.
This position will also involve other instructional activity and service as part of a bipartite workload with service to include student recruitment and departmental committees (as needed).

The Department of Music offers a B.
M.
degree with an emphasis in either education or performance, as well as a B.
A.
degree in music for students wishing to pursue graduate studies in musicology or music theory.

Candidate must have the knowledge, skill, and ability to teach Music courses as identified in the workload.

TYPICAL
Experience:
Successful college level experience teaching aural skills, brass methods and conducting is required.
Experience as an active performer on a brass instrument.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
Master of Music degree or related field is required.
