Environmental Protection Specialist

You will:
Manage, coordinate, monitor, oversee, and evaluate programs, projects, or activities involving the region's Brownfields' programs Review official assistance or cooperative agreements documents for legal and administrative compliance prior to award signature and approval Interpret EPA assistance agreement policies and procedures and provide advice and assistance to internal and external partners Participate in meetings with internal and external agency partners to discuss and/or provide recommendations or advice on program policies or program requirements or identifying and resolving issues You will spend more than 50% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements. You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as providing interpretation of policies/regulations to internal and external customers; reviewing grants or cooperative agreements; reviewing policies and procedures and providing recommendations; and providing recommendations or assessments for contaminated sites.Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of Brownfields' programs Skill in using standard data gathering and analysis techniques to collect and review information to identify and solve problems Knowledge of grants management procedures sufficient to oversee and/or monitor grantee performance Skill in oral communication Ability to obtain information, evaluate, analyze, and/or recommend changes or provide advice to internal and external partners Skill in written communication Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
