Administrative Support Clerk (OA) duties will include, but are not limited to:
Composing correspondence, documents, spreadsheets and reports in addition to completing records and data entry. Distributing mail, applying postage and determining package requirements. Reviewing credit card statements for office staff, verifying supporting documentation and approvals, reallocating charges and troubleshooting potential errors to recommend best course of action for corrections. Preparing and reviewing travel documents including authorizations and vouchers. Answering telephones, emails and greeting visitors. Ensuring all property is properly numbered and accounted for. Entering time and attendance. NOTE:
The grade level progression of this position is GS-4/5/6. Incumbent may be promoted to the next grade level (GS-5), and subsequently to the full performance level (GS-6), without further competition after all legal and regulatory requirements are met; i.e., satisfactory performance and time-in-grade; however, promotion is neither automatic nor guaranteed. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. This position performs duties that require the ability to type, and requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position. - AND - To qualify for this position at the GS-04 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to aquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties obtained in the Federal service or obtained in either the public or private sectors. This general experience includes activities such as:
typing various documents, using office equipment, organizing numerical information, answering telephones or filing. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least two years of education above high school (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school junior college, college, or university. You must include transcripts. -OR- COMBINATION:
of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience for example, 6 months of the general experience and 1 year of college study from an accredited institution equaling at least 100% of the total requirement. You must include transcripts. Volunteer
Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
