In order to qualify for this position, applicants must one of the basic requirements below:
Bachelor's degree in archival science or a bachelor's degree with a major that includes 18 semester hours in archival science, history, and/or political science or government, and 12 semester hours in one or any combination of the following:
archival science, history, American civilization, economics, political science, public administration, or government. NOTE:
You must submit a copy of your transcripts for verification. OR Possess a combination of education and experience with at least 30 semester hours that included courses shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Experience must have been in archival science, or in a directly related field of work such as history that involved the collection, appraisal, analysis, or synthesis of information having historical or archival values. The following are illustrative of kinds of experience that may be accepted as meeting the professional experience requirements:
(1) experience as an archivist in Federal, state, religious institution, business, or other archives, or in manuscript depositories, and (2) experience of an archival nature that involved research in archival science, or in a directly related field such as history, government, economics, political science, international relations, or international law. The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform archivist work, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major as described above. You must submit a copy of your transcripts for verification. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS In addition to meeting the above basic requirement, applicants must meet ONE the following minimum qualifications. GS-11 Specialized
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following:
(1) assisting with processing, arranging, rehousing and describing archival collections according to professional standards; (2) establishing hierarchies and developing classification systems to facilitate access to archival materials; (3) authenticating and appraising historical documents and archival materials; (4) creating and maintaining electronic archives and databases for cataloging archival and manuscript collections; (5) assisting in writing technical reports such as project task directives, scopes of work, surveys, completion reports and finding aids relating to archival cataloging. OR Education:
I have successfully completed three years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in an accredited educational institution concentrated in a field that is directly related to the work of this position, such as archival science or history, that involved the collection, appraisal, analysis, or synthesis of information having historical or archival values. NOTE:

Must have an appropriate combination of successfully completed graduate level education and experience. To determine your combination, first compute your experience as a percentage of the experience listed above; then determine your education as a percentage of the education listed above; then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate education in excess two full years (36 hours) may be used to qualify. NOTE:

Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
