In addition to meeting the education requirement, you must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples:
Experience with assignments that involve considerable background and broad knowledge in environmental engineering, mining engineering, hydrology, geology or chemistry for developing methodologies, strategies, and solutions to investigate, assess, and propose remediation of sites that contain hazardous materials. Perform field work that provided a means of obtaining professional knowledge of and skill in applying of the basic concepts, principles and methodologies of environmental engineering, geology and closely related sciences, e.g., geophysics, geochemistry, or hydrology. Such work generally must have involved making close observations, taking samples, handling various types of instruments and equipment, assembling data from source materials, and analyzing and reporting findings orally and in writing. Use GIS programs (e.g. ArcMap, ArcCatalog, Erdas, and/or open source products). -OR- Education:
have 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physical science, engineering, mathematics, or related degree to Physical Scientist. - OR- Combination of Education and
Experience:
You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. To compute this, first determine your education as a percentage of the education requirement and then determine your experience as a percentage of the experience requirement; add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal 100% to qualify. Only graduate level education in excess of the first two years may be combined with experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
