Food and Nutrition Cook II - Room Service (1.0 FTE, Variable)

Providence is calling a Cook II - Room Service (Food and Nutrition, Shift, 1.0) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
In the Food and Nutrition Department of Providence we believe food helps make people better. We're a team that works hard supporting each other and appreciates the role we have in providing great food to patients that are healing. We love being creative and thinking outside what you might think of the typical hospital food box recent menu items have included Chicken Tinga Street Tacos, Shrimp Pad Thai and Maple Glazed Cornish Game Hen for example. We also like to give back to the community by providing meals for local shelters as well as other volunteer opportunities. We also have a great management team that is incredibly supportive in helping you grow skills for your career journey and offers cross training in a wide variety of disciplines (baker, saute, etc.).
Our ideal future team member is an exceptionally organized line cook with at least 2 years of med/high volume experience (think Glacier Brewhouse, Alyeska Resort Dining, etc.) who is an admitted clean freak. Someone who loves meeting strict timelines, prioritizing and working efficiently (think of it as 692 1 tops a day) while happily helping out other team members. And most importantly, it's someone with a passion for cooking who likes to please people through food!
In this position you will:
Prepare hot and cold food items, using a variety of cooking equipment, while following scratch recipes and department specifications.
Maintain all foods at proper temperatures, during all phases of cooking process Prep, Cooking, Holding and Cooling.
Work cooperatively as an essential member of the Dietary team.
Comply with all hospital and department standards and become fully knowledgeable about regulatory requirements in food service in a health care environment.
Ensure work area is properly sanitized before daily production begins.
Secure needed food supplies and small equipment and ensures they are properly stored in work area.
Review production sheets and follows standardized recipes for production.
Required qualifications for this position include:
2 years experience in quantity food preparation
Regular attendance
Ability to read, write and speak English
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Specific vocational training

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster.
