The Controls Technician will support LONG Building Automation and Industrial Controls customers by programming control systems based on project specifications. Using expertise in the Industrial and HVAC industries, the Controls Technician will perform programming, startups, commissioning, warranty, emergency, and maintenance service on installed systems.
Responsibilities/
Essential Functions:

Programs databases, for all supported systems, to meet specified sequences of operation and equipment manufacturers recommendations in accordance with LONG standards and contract documents

Develops and implements procedures for acceptance of completed work (i.e. checkout sheets completed and submitted and checkout procedures followed)

Advises project manager regarding system deficiencies and/or customer complaints and advises appropriate LONG management

Communicates regularly and efficiently with dispatch, project managers and engineering manager via voice mail, cell phone and email regarding dispatch, job concerns, technical matters and other issues

Performs calibration and check-out of control systems, and ensures that specified sequence of operation and commissioning obligations are met

Ensures that LONG is compensated for all work that is performed outside contractual obligations

Prepares written startup and commissioning procedures as needed

Provides signed completed checkout documentation (i.e. checkout sheets) to the project manager, on a daily/weekly basis, for inclusion into the project manual

Instructs owner's personnel on operation and maintenance of installed control systems and energy conservation routines

Prepares course outlines, course materials, and conducts training courses, at the LONG training facility, for owner representatives and internal personnel as requested by engineering manager and dispatcher

Assists the graphics coordinator and/or provide the labor and expertise for the preparation and delivery of graphical user interfaces when required for projects in accordance with LONG graphics standards and contract documents

Advises service sales manager of additional sales potential and solicits service contracts while performing start-up, commissioning, and owner training tasks

Provides information to update drawings and keep records of equipment for as-built documentation (turns in all redlined drafting to application engineers)

Upon project completion, advises project managers on job closeout forms and warranty dates

Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:

4 year engineering degree and 2 years related experience or 2 years tech school and 5 years temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience or 8 years temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience

Extensive knowledge of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, fire alarm and smoke removal systems, engineering, installation, and construction procedures

Programming skill with Rockwell, Allen-Bradley, Invensys, Tridium, and other equivalent systems

Valid driver's license

Ability to interact with all levels of personnel to include department and project managers, engineers, sales personnel, and service and control technicians

Strong customer service skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
