The challenge? Helping ensure the supply of our world's oil and gas. At CH2M HILL, we deliver solutions that span the entire breadth of the oil industry.
Our Estimator job will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting, large scale oil and gas projects. Each day, you will be an important team leader as you prepare complete estimates for assigned projects of various size and complexity, either directly or through subordinate personnel. You should be a self-motivated, detail oriented professional with 10
years of estimating, controls engineering and design experience, BA/BS college or university degree in engineering or relevant field, and a desire to grow personally and professionally with each assigned project.
Each day our Estimators :
Review bids, estimates and change orders prepared by engineering contractors and construction contractors
Act as cost consultant and advisor for both internal stakeholders such as Engineering and Construction Teams, as well as external stakeholders, including Owner Clients and Vendors. This position requires excellent communications skills with an amicable personal style that fosters Client confidence in our work.
Provide a comprehensive and thoroughly documented basis of estimate.
Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, actual costs, etc. into unit and man-hour figures.
Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
Prepare estimates by calculating a complete take-off of scope of work, utilizing various estimating methodologies.
Review design options and recommend best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, constructability or availability of materials.
Support other department personnel as required, may include preparing estimates in various disciplines.
Analyze field conditions and apply practical field experience with constructability expertise to the development of conceptual estimates where little or no design drawings and information exist for the effort.

Basic Qualifications
BA/BS college or university degree in engineering or relevant field, or an additional 10 years of experience in lieu of degree.

years of conceptual estimating, construction and engineering experience
Knowledge of multiple disciplines consisting of: estimating techniques; cost control; and ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems
Knowledge of computer software associated with project estimating
Must be familiar with design and construction practices utilized in Arctic environments for pipeline in addition to oil and gas facility projects
Preferred Qualifications
Project experience within the oil and gas indusrty in Alaska
Professional certifications and registrations-: PE, PMP, ASCE
