We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer for one of our top clients in Anchorage, AK, a multi- disciplined EPC firm that provides engineering services to the oil and gas, mining and power industries.
The Process Engineer is primarily responsible for providing Process Engineering leadership and support for our client''s various projects, including design, planning the layout of projects and engaging in construction, control and improvement of equipment to carry out processes on commercial scale. For this position, prior Alaska experience is required, with prior North Slope arctic design work strongly preferred.
The selected candidate is also responsible for:
Developing process flow diagrams, PFDs and P&IDs;
Using computer modeling software to design processes, including HYSYS, ProII and/or PipePhase
Assisting in preparation of scopes of work and man hour estimates for new project work
Designing equipment to control movement, storage and processing of petroleum liquids and gasses
Designing process safety systems, including PSV sizing and ESD control philosophy.
Performing hydraulic calculations
Determining the most effective arrangement of unit operations and exercising judgment to compromise between process requirements, economic evaluation, operator effectiveness, physical and health hazards
Directing Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) of process systems and addressing resultant findings
Writing operating procedures for new process systems
Researching and analyzing data, such as client design proposals, specifications and manuals to determine feasibility of design and/or application
Working with clients to develop a project''s scope of work, estimates and/or schedules.
Reviewing and approving project drawings, standards and specifications
Consistently demonstrating professional skills in structuring assigned activities, creativity, teamwork and problem solving
Bachelor''s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field

years of experience in Process Engineering and design, with prior work in the North Slope of Alaska, arctic conditions and/or production facility design strongly preferred
PE License registered in Alaska strongly preferred
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals
Capability to write articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and the ability to effectively present information to top management and client
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software and other discipline-specific design or analysis software as required
