Example of Duties:
Responds to field emergency situations and requests for water and wastewater services, inspections, locates and emergency Utility failures. Reviews engineered plans for the issuance of Utility permits. Schedules appointments, field investigations, and inspections. Dispatches field personnel. Initiates on-line service orders. Establishes the basis for new accounts. Keeps associated connect records and logs. Performs data entry in support of the meter repair service orders and the Cross Connection Control Program (Backflow Prevention). Other related duties as assigned or required.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Special
Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent andtwo (2) yearsof technical level engineering experience in one or more of the following fields: drafting, surveying, inspection, materials testing, plan review, permitting, computerized mapping, computer assisted design (CAD), traffic signal control, code enforcement, or a related field which includedone (1) yearat the Engineering Technician I level with the Municipality of Anchorage or the equivalent elsewhere.
Substitution:
Post-secondary education in the fields listed above or a related field may substitute on a year for year basis for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
Notice:
Preference will be given to current Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA) employees. Current AMEA employees who are successful in the screening process will be forwarded to the Department for consideration prior to any non-AMEA applicants.
If selected for hire, the appointment in this position will be conditional based upon a satisfactory Municipal Employment Office conducted Background Check. A Background Check encompasses criminal history, verifying education, and verifying dates of employment.
Veterans who wish to be considered for interview preference as allowed in the Personnel Rules 3.30.031.D must attach a copy of their DD Form 214 to the application. The DD Form 214 mush show an honorable discharge. Minimum qualifications for the position must be met for preference consideration.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
