Are you a user-focused helpdesk technician who is excited about resolving end user computer and network related problems? Are you respected for your stellar interpersonal skills, your attention to detail, and your self-motivation? Are you a morning person who would love to start the day early and be off work by mid afternoon? Our client, a well-respected and well-established Alaskan financial services firm, is looking for you!
To be successful in this role, you should have at least one year of professional desktop support or computer technician experience. You should be comfortable working with and diagnosing problems with Windows XP and Windows 7 in a Windows Server 2003 and 2008 environment. Solid application support skills, particularly with MS Office and Internet Explorer will be critical to your success. Familiarity with network hardware, protocols, and standards is required. You should be logical and be comfortable digging into technical issues to resolve them. Certification (A+, MCP, Network +, Security
etc) is desired. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Serve as the first point of contact for user questions, concerns, and requests for IT support and troubleshooting
Resolve Tier I technical issues including minor equipment malfunctions
Identify and organize support tickets by priority and distribute tickets among the helpdesk team
Generating reports from ticketing software system as needed
Assist with fieldwork and prepare desktop and laptops for staff use
Our client's requirements:
Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows XP and Windows 7, and Windows Server
Strong application support experience with Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer
Working knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards including VLANs, Switching, Firewalls, VPNs and iSCSI SANs
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
Proficiency with Word and Excel
Available to work the early shift (starting between 4 am and 6 am), participate in on-call rotation
