Geoscience Manager, the Operations Geologist will be responsible for monitoring all geological field operations for operated exploration, appraisal and development wells drilling related to the Nanushuk field.
This includes directing analysis, interpretation and evaluation of incoming data and the preparation of daily Geological reports.
This individual is responsible for the preparation of detailed well prognosis, well planning, execution of well program, and provision of geological data to the Subsurface team for integration into geological models for further appraisal/development drilling and planning purposes.
The Operations Geologist will support the tendering process for geological services for the development wells, and assist with the coordination of Wellsite Geologists in the field Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities Support compliance with HSES policies and standards in all activities.
Supervise Wellsite logging, formation evaluation, coring and geosteering operations for exploration, appraisal, and development drilling programs.
Support safe, compliant, reliable delivery of drilling projects, and coordinate activities of Wellsite Geologists in the field.
Implement systems for acquisition and reporting of all geological data from the project well site and its transmission to relevant internal OSL stakeholders and external JV partners.
Take key role in the preparation of Geological Well Prognosis, end of well documentation, analysis and reporting to Internal/external parties, and evaluation of new technologies.
Attends daily drilling meeting and serve as key Interface between wellsite and Reservoir Development team.
Mentor Drilling/Completion, Reservoir Development and Exploration personnel in the operations environment as needed.
Assist with definition of Scope of Work/evaluation of geoscience related drilling tenders and contracts (wireline, mud logging, coring etc.
).
Distribute wellsite data & reports to subsurface operation team and all agreed JV partners.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required Formal Qualifications Minimum Bachelor's degree in Geology/Geoscience or related discipline.
Experience/Skills Detailed knowledge of development and production geoscience methods with a proven track record of successful projects; good knowledge of reservoir engineering principles and methodologies Operational experience of well planning, drilling and well-site operations; knowledge of petrophysics and formation evaluation Have a strong background in and be fully conversant in LWD Logging and the latest advanced technologies.
Have a strong background of wireline operations in difficult logging environments, specifically in harsh weather environments and highly deviated wells.
The ability to characterise and succinctly articulate the subsurface issues and recommendations to other relevant disciplines and management is required.
Ability to work independently, but also work effectively within a multi 1 discipline team environment to develop clear, business-focused recommendations and appropriate work programs.
Up to date working knowledge of technical software including Petrel, other relevant analytical tools, and Microsoft Office.
Clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
Ability to build consensus across the organization.
Experience Approximately 15 years of oil and gas industry experience, with a significant proportion of this time having been spent in in an operations/wellsite geological role.
Ideally, candidates should have experience of working on Alaskan field development projects, preferably with an Operator Recommended Skills Communication Hardworking And Dedicated Microsoft Office Oil And Gas Self Motivation Site Operations Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
