Project Permitting Specialist

JOB SUMMARY The position is responsible for executing project permitting for construction, modernization, and acquisitions at existing and new Petro Star locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Analyze new regulations in the Environmental field to ensure that regulations are translated into effective procedures to comply with Federal, State, and local regulations.
2.
In-depth knowledge and experience with Air Quality Permit, APDES permit, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Permitting, RCRA Waste Management Permitting, and Municipal permitting.
3.
In-depth experience with Civil construction requirements.
4.
In-depth experience with IBC, IFC, and preferably NFPA code.
5.
AUTOCAD experience is preferred.
6.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 1.
Minimum of eight years of relevant work experience in the areas of project permitting and regulatory compliance.
2.
Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering.

Knowledge:

o Resource Conservation & Recovery Act o Toxic Substances Control Act o Clean Water Act o Clean Air Act o Endangered Species Act o Alaska Administrative Code 4.
Knowledge:
IBC, IFC, NFPA codes.

Travel:
o Statewide travel on as needed basis LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
