What you will be doing:
The Child Support Specialist 2 is a first-level supervisory position with responsibility for supervising a team of Child Support Specialists and Office Assistants.
Teams are responsible for child support enforcement actions, case preparation, paternity determinations, and/or establishment of child support orders and briefing the general public and other organizations on CSED policies, procedures, statutes, regulations, court rules and available services.
A lot of trust is placed on this position.
You will be required to make important decisions, and be in charge of employees, their schedules, production and teambuilding.
You'll get to interview applicants, hire them and promote them.
This position has a great deal of responsibility and will be great way to turn your current job into a career.

CSED offices are located in the Atwood Building and the Linny Pacillo Parking Garage in downtown Anchorage.

Who we are looking for:
We are seeking an individual with the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Communicating information about policies, procedures, processes, statutes and regulations in person, over the phone and in writing, Preparing business correspondence and writing office or agency procedures, Researching information, analyzing documents, making decisions independently and clearly explaining your findings either verbally or in writing, Working as a part of a team to coordinate communications and efforts among team members and directing others accordingly, Handling confidential information on a daily basis while maintaining the agency's strict confidentiality requirements, Training and evaluating the performance of trainees, Preparing and maintaining statistical reports.
Minimum Qualifications One year of experience performing child support casework and/or collections at the full working level.
This experience is equivalent to Child Support Specialist 1 with the State of Alaska or equivalent elsewhere.
OR Four years of experience in investigations, collections, paralegal work, or program eligibility determinations, of which at least one year was at the journey paraprofessional level.
The required experience includes, but is not limited to, work such as Investigator 1, Paralegal 2, Eligibility Technician 2, and some Accounting Technicians 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.
AND One year of customer service experience, which may be gained concurrently.
Post-secondary education from an accredited institution may substitute for up to three years of the work experience described in the second option (three semester hours or four quarter hours equals one month).
There is no substitution for the one year experience at the journey paraprofessional level or the customer service experience, though they may be gained concurrently.
Special Note:
some positions require incumbents pass a background investigation to meet security requirements for access to State and national databases.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
