Operations Manager Glacier Valley Transit is a 501c(3) organization committed to providing free, safe and reliable public transportation & exceptional customer service to Girdwood residents and visitors.
GVT leases employees from Alyeska Resort through a management agreement.

The GVT Operations Manager will carry out supervisory responsibilities' in accordance with GVT policies and applicable FTA regulations.
Responsibilities' include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
SUMMARY Assist, communicate regularly and work closely with the GVT board of directors and GVT Executive Director to coordinate specific projects and activities by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Will assist in managing day-to-day operations and the long-term goals of Will ensure all GVT buses are running at safe operational levels and ensure all vehicles are routinely maintained and maintenance records are accurate, updated and Minimal mechanical skills required (light bulbs, mounting signs, etc) Teach, train and directly supervise Coordinates training programs for GVT drivers.

Work with governing bodies (GBOS, Muni & AKDOT) as well as the Girdwood community members and businesses to insure strong support for GVT.

EXPERIENCE Must have previous experience operating in a public transit system.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedure manuals, effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the public.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must have or be able to obtain within the introductory period, the following:
Valid Alaska Driver's license.
Must complete required Drug and Alcohol training, Smith Systems and PASS training as a trainer within 2 years of employment Physical demands and work environment:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
