LOCATION:
4333 Bering Street Example of Duties Responsible for processing and reconciling all accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement card, fixed asset, inventory, and other general ledger accounts.
Administration and processing of personnel and payroll functions for the Public Works Department/Fleet Maintenance Division.
Monitor both operational and capital expenditures, prepares general ledger adjustments for inventory and asset acquisitions and closures.
Prepares various department operating and financial reports.
Informs department and division management of issues impacting operational efficiency and financial issues of organization.
Assists in development and input of operating and capital budgets for department.
Provides administrative support to various Municipal agencies that interface with Public Works Department/Fleet Maintenance Division.
Respond to interagency and public inquiries as requested.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline and experience in accounting, payroll, or similar work responsibility.
OR Associate's degree in Accounting or a related discipline and two (2) years of experience in accounting, payroll, or similar work responsibility.
OR High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and four (4) years of experience in accounting, payroll, or similar office responsibility.
Must possess a valid State of Alaska driver's license at time of hire.
Preferences:

Advanced working knowledge of SAP financial systems or similar complex integrated financial system where HR, procurement, budgets and projects are integrated within the software.
Additional Important Information Preference will be given to current Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA) employees.
AMEA employees who are successful in the screening process will be forwarded to the Department for consideration prior to any non-AMEA applicants.
