Accounts Payable Technician - Hybrid Office Schedule Offered - Anchorage, AKDescriptionSummaryThis position performs various duties with coding verification, entering, processing, storing of accounts payable information to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services.
Verify transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
Verify coding and approval of invoices.
Prepare batches of invoices for data entry.
Enter invoices in the system.
Prepare weekly check runs - check printing to mailing.
Prepare manual checks when required.
Reconcile vendor statements.
Additional duties and
Responsibilities:
Prepare and distribute monthly credit card statements.
Prepare preprocess credit card excel spreadsheet.
Collect, research, and reconcile credit card statements daily.
Sends out reminder for missing credit card statements.
Process Divided out of cycle check request.
Create and maintain vendor files.
Research and answer vendor inquiries and issues.
Assist in monthly and yearly closing of financial books.
Assist support to internal and external auditors.
Fill in for other accounting employees as needed.
Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications High School Graduate (or GED).
2 years of post-secondary education accounting or a related field of study.
5 years of progressive accounts payable experience.
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office, including, but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to operate a computer, fax machine, copier, and calculator.
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in entering financial information.
Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial files.
Effective written and communication skills.
Effective time management skills.
Math skills - add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsWeather:
Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.

The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere.

Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
