Opportunity:
The Human Resources Department is looking for a motivated and energetic candidate to join our team.
In this opportunity, the Training and Benefits Assistant plans, develops, coordinates, and conducts all agency-sponsored training.
Essential Job Functions:
Assists with developing and implementing the agency's organization-wide training program Maintain records and prepare reports to evaluate the training progress Formulate training outlines and determine appropriate instructional procedures or methods such as individual training, group instruction, self-study, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, workshops, and computer-based training as appropriate Organize and develop training manuals, testing and evaluation procedures, and other educational materials Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as new employee orientation, customer service, health and safety practices Revise the design of the training curriculum and methods to improve the effectiveness of the training program Enroll participants in external training (i.
e.
, seminars, conferences, etc.
) Plans, implements and administrates benefits programs.
Consults with and advises employees and management on eligibility, provisions, and other matters related to benefits Resolves employee questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong writing skills; interpersonal skills; ability to communicate thoroughly and accurately; comfortable giving oral presentations to large groups Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the agency Knowledge of adult learning theory Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Ability to multi-task and be proactive in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Human Services, Communications, or a related field preferred.
Three years experience in the human services field is strongly preferred Trainer Certification preferred Clearances:
Background check as defined by licensing agencies.
Current TB test/clearance Physical Requirements:
Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time Standing and moving about for extended periods of time Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard Communication skills using the spoken word Ability to see within normal parameters Ability to hear within normal range The Arc of Anchorage is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
