18 an hour 16 hours ago 16 hours ago 16 hours ago To serve as timekeeper for all Train and Engine (T&E) service personnel, train dispatchers, and managers and supervisors within the Transportation Department.
Examples of Duties:
Receives and processes daily time reports for all train & engine personnel.
Audits each time report for coding, pay rate, and approval accuracy and corrects or requests approval as needed.
Ensures that each time report is validated against the information input into the TRMS computerized system.
Researches and validates all claim submissions.
Ensures that all documentation complies with current FRA rules and regulations, union agreements, and ARRC policies and procedures.
Runs and audits reports to validate the entries and transmits to Payroll bi-weekly.
Tracks leave usage, bids, seniority status, and movement, for Train & Enginemen.
Reviews and corrects all information in the TRMS database.
Develops and maintains validation reports for monitoring and control.
Monitors employees eligibility dates for probation, pay increases, & pension.
Completes Personnel Action forms for any status changes for Train & Enginemen and Crew Dispatchers for the Human Resource department.
Coordinates with Human Resources on employee issues and status.
Validates and codes any employee expense reports submitted and remits for approval signature.
Receives and researches requests for information regarding train movements, crew movements, manpower information, employee status, and project accounting.
Verifies Crew Dispatch time entries in JD Edwards system.
Assists in overseeing database integrity and ensures timeliness and accuracy of computer information input by staff.
Serves as functional expert for TRMS system and participates in development of the database management system.

Two years of work experience in payroll, time keeping and/or the accounting field is required.
Must have previous working experience and/or training on timekeeping procedures for processing payroll.
Basic understanding of Hours of Service Law, ARRC Orders, Operating Circulars, Timetable Bulletins, ARRC policies and procedures, and other administrative directives affecting pay are preferred.
Must have an understanding of project codes, work codes, etc.
Skill and ability in operating a personal computer using Word and database management system required.
Must be able to operate a 10-key machine by sight.
Must be able to type 25 wpm.
Requires excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette.
Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work independently, accurately and adhere to strict time frames.

Retirement Plans ARRC Pension Plan - Participation is mandatory.
You are automatically enrolled in the Plan when you meet the eligibility requirement of your bargaining unit.
Employees contribute 9% of their Earnings on a pre-tax basis.
The Railroad is exempt from participation in Social Security; however, Medicare Tax is withheld.
Participants vest with 5 years of eligible Vesting Service which entitles one to receive a pension benefit at retirement age.
Tier 2 Description (Employees hired after July 1, 2015) Normal Retirement Age is age 65, however, the plan allows one to retire as early as age 60.
The formula for a monthly Normal Retirement Benefits is 2% x Final Average Earnings x all Credited Service.
Early retirement, survivor and disability benefits are available for vested participants.
401(k) Tax Deferred Savings Plan - Participation is optional.

Coverage is also available for the employee's spouse and dependent children.
ARRC and the participant share the premium cost.
Bargaining unit employees are Eligibility after 90 days, and non-represented employees are eligible as of the date of hire.
The Railroad offers a Prefered Provider Organization plan (PPO Blue Essentials) and a Consumer Directed Healthcare Plan with a Health Saving Account (Gold Essentials).
