Summary Under minimal supervision, provides accurate andcomplete accounting records which conformtoanapproved systemof accountsand which reflect thefinancial positionofthe organization.

None RepresentativeDuties Maintainscontinuing propertyrecordstoincludereconcilingaccountbalancestotrial balances, researches discrepancies and corrects differences.
Performsmonthlyreconciliationofinventory accounts.
Participates in thephysical inventory count for various warehouses and assists warehousepersonnelwithinventoryadjustmentsand/oraverageunitpriceadjustments.
Clearsmaterialsandfreeissues forinventory operations.
Reconcilesdeferreddebitprojects monthly andmakesappropriateadjustments to accounts.
Preparesjournalentries and maintainssupportingschedulesforthedepreciation and amortization of capital and intangible assets.
Maintainsdetailedbalances ofamountsreceived asContributions inAidofConstruction and reconciles to trial balance.
Preparesmonthly,quarterly,and year-endauditandotherschedulesasneeded.
Issuesandsetsupproject numbersfordeferreddebitandreimbursable deferred debit projects.
Participatesintheconversionofthecontinuing propertyrecordstoanautomated fixed assetsystemand maintainstheongoingaccuracy of theassociatedaccountingrecords.
Performsotherjob-relateddutiesasassigned.

Keeps manager informed of problems and progress in all areasof work.
Accounting Personnel:
Respondstoinquiriesandprovidesinformation asrelated to Plant Accounting OtherDepartments:

External Auditors:
Provides source documents as necessary and answers procedural questions to permit auditors to perform their function.

Must have completed six (6) semester credit hours of college-level accounting courses, including general accounting, principles of accounting, managerial accounting, financial reporting or more advanced related coursework.
Experience Two (2)yearsof accounting experience isrequired,one(1)of which mustbeinproperty plant, utility and/or equipment accounting.
Education/ExperienceSubstitution Additionalaccountingexperiencebeyondthespecifiedtwoyearminimum maybesubstituted for theeducational requirements at the rate of one(1)yearaccounting experience forsix(6)semester credit hours of accounting courses.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Must befamiliar withandunderstandaccounting principles, account reconciliationandanalysis, accounting spreadsheets and invoicing.
Knowledge of fixed asset accounting principles is preferred.
Proficiency in the useof software applications isrequired.
Must havestrong numerical data entry skills.
Must beable to organize and manage multiple projects and priorities.
Strong communication skillsare required, including the ability tointerpret technical data and communicate technical data/informationtootherpersonnel.
Mustpossess problemsolvingand analytical thinking skills.
SpecialPositionRequirements Occasionalovertimeandtravel(sometimesincludingmultipleday/overnight travel)maybe required.
WorkingConditions Work is performed in a standard office environment with regularly scheduled working hours.
Periodic travel to other sites, including warehouse sites, is required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
