0 Full-time 2 hours ago Full Job Description Ensures the accuracy and consistency of financial data, while preparing the financial reports.
Includes establishing and maintaining accounting practices and procedures based on generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Prepares and/or evaluates financial reports/metrics and presents findings and recommendations to management.
Serves as one of the functional experts on ARRC's financial information systems.
This position is a working manager, with hands-on, professional accounting duties.
Examples of Duties Responsible for managing all daily, monthly and annual general ledger processing.
Ensures that all subsidiary accounting systems interface with the general ledger.
Tests and implements system interfaces as necessary.
Updates and controls the general ledger chart of accounts and security.
Produces ARRC monthly financial statements including activity on capital projects.
Prepares, distributes and explains financial statements to both internal and external users.
Assists CFO, Controller and Budget Officers with annual development of the operating budget and provides support for monthly variance reporting.
Develops other financial reports and analysis as required.
Ensures that balance sheet components (cash, inventory, prepaid expenses, fixed assets) are recorded in accordance with GAAP and corporate policy.
Responsible for developing, maintaining, improving and reconciling manual and automated subsidiary systems which provide detail for the balance sheet components.
Ensures that all required grant fund expenditure records and documentation are properly maintained and supervises the timely preparation of reports required by granting agencies.
Is responsible for the determination of annual overhead (Department of Transportation (DOT)/Real Estate) and indirect cost rates.
Coordinates the audit of overhead rates and equipment rates with DOT and resolves any differences.
Supervises subordinate professional accountants.
Provides training and technical assistance to staff.
Ensures work is performed in accordance with GAAP, grant requirements and corporate policies.
Coordinates the audits of state and federal grants.
Assists with development and/or improvement in internal operational audit procedures.
Conducts periodic audits of internal controls.
Provides recommendations to the Controller for specific departmental improvements of existing controls.
Serves as resource for all ARRC employees who use the ERP financial systems.
Trains and instructs new general ledger users.
Serves as the Financial Section Chief for the ARRC's Incident Command System.
May be required to participate in Incident Command exercises and activities.

Work Experience Eight years of professional accounting experience is required.
Must have excellent analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills as well as strong computer software/systems background.
Certification/License Requirements An active CPA license is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications Four years of supervisory experience is preferred.
Experience in the administration and reporting of federal grant funds is preferred.

Retirement PlansARRC Pension Plan - Participation is mandatory.
You are automatically enrolled in the Plan when you meet the eligibility requirement of your bargaining unit.
Employees contribute 9% of their Earnings on a pre-tax basis.
The Railroad is exempt from participation in Social Security; however, Medicare Tax is withheld.
Participants vest with 5 years of eligible Vesting Service which entitles one to receive a pension benefit at retirement age.
Tier 2 Description (Employees hired after July 1, 2015)Normal Retirement Age is age 65, however, the plan allows one to retire as early as age 60.

Coverage is also available for the employee's spouse and dependent children.
ARRC and the participant share the premium cost.
Bargaining unit employees are Eligibility after 90 days, and non-represented employees are eligible as of the date of hire.
The Railroad offers a Prefered Provider Organization plan (PPO Blue Essentials) and a Consumer Directed Healthcare Plan with a Health Saving Account (Gold Essentials).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
