The position is for a Clinical Neuropsychologist or Rehabilitation Psychologist working in the Polytrauma Program of the Rehabilitation Care Service at the Alaska VA Healthcare System, Anchorage, AK. Primary duties involve applying advanced professional neuropsychological assessment methods to patients with war-related head injuries as well as patients with other neurologic and psychiatric disorders. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Deliver evidence-based cognitive rehabilitation interventions to improve the occupational and self-care functioning of head injuries patients.
Advanced knowledge of psychological diagnosis, intervention, and behavioral health that qualifies to provide advice and consultation to professionals representing a variety of disciplines, including nurses, physicians, and other mental health professionals.
The primary job functions as psychologist include the provision of direct psychological patient care, consultation services on difficult or complex cases, and education of staff and trainee supervision.
Strong preference will be given to candidates who have completed, or are eligible for, ABPP certification in neuropsychology or rehabilitation psychology.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
a. Citizenship . Citizen of the United States.
b. Education . Doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). The specialty area of the degree must be consistent with the assignment for which the applicant is to be employed. Doctoral degree in Psychology must be from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited graduate program and applicant must have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program that has been accredited by the APA as well.
AND
Have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program that has been accredited by APA. Exceptions: (1) new VHA psychology internship programs that are in the process of applying for APA accreditation are acceptable in fulfillment of the internship requirement, provided that such programs were sanctioned by the VHA Central Office Program Director for Psychology and the VHA Central Office of Academic Affiliations at the time that the individual was an intern and (2) VHA facilities who offered full one-year pre-doctoral internships prior to PL 96-151 (pre-1979) are considered to be acceptable in fulfillment of the internship requirement.
c. Licensure and Certification . Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (e.g., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
d. English Language Proficiency . Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
e. At least one year of post-doctoral experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
