Job Description
UIC Technical Services (UICTS) is an Alaska Native holding company owned by Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corporation (UIC). UIC Technical Services is based in Alexandria, VA. UICTS and its Bowhead family of companies provide our government and private sector customers'' expertise in areas such as program management, systems engineering/integration, logistics/supply support, software management/development, IT services support, aviation logistics/performance based logistics (PBL), configuration management, risk management and training/simulation support.
BCS is hiring for a full-time Telecommunications Technicians to install, program, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, repair and remove voice, data network systems (including PBX), key systems, VOIP systems, video conferencing systems and Cisco switches. The Technician will also run cat5, 5e, 6 and fiber optic cabling. The Telecom Technician will analyze and resolve issues related to customer needs.
Work will take place in extreme temperatures; position will require lifting ladders, lifting 60 lbs and working in confined spaces.
Required Skills
Experience with NEC SV8100, 8300 or Avaya IP Office, radvision, scopia
Working knowledge of operating telecommunication hand tools and ladders
Working knowledge of national electrical codes and BICSI standards in strict compliance with OSHA regulations
Desired Skills:
NEC or Avaya Certified
Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Required Experience
High School Diploma,or equivalent, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
Candidates must follow all company Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program Requirements.
All post-secondary education listed on a Candidate s application and resume must be verifiable, including but not limited to dates of attendance and degree/diploma awarded. Post-secondary education includes any courses taken through an accredited college or university in pursuit of a degree.
